I just use a blanking plate. Admittedly it isn't conical in function but it is full CIP which is the direction I was going for.

Think the inside is 1.75" though what thread.... who knows, perhaps you could bastardise a spear and have a valve on it?

Got any photos mate?

Always keen to see how others have trashed, I mean modified their kegs.

I added the footer about the rugby after the terrible autumn internationals, but turns out it was needed after the Ireland game! I loose it if we beat France.

Anyway...

I want to heat the vessel by either a soil warming cable or heat mat. What wattage is required to keep 50L at up to 30c?? I will insulate heavily.

I tested one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190758852264? ... 1439.l2649 on a ss conical , it works not too ferociously ;) however i think mounting any probe governing input should be placed fairly closely to the heat source to avoid overheating before the change penetrates the mass to a distant probe...

Not happy. Ordered 2" tri clamp, blanking plate, gasket and barb...

Turns out keg neck is 2.5" instead. Annoying!

If I cant find another use for them on the build will appear in for sale section.

Of to re-order the right size....

EDIT: Anyone know somewhere other than eBay to get reasonably priced triclamp bits. Fancy 2.5" to 2" reducing elbow or straight reducer. That will allow me to use what I have and also open up some other ideas???

aliexpress or brewershardware. Not sure how much the cost has to be under to avoid tax though.

Seems like tri-clamp fittings and parts arent that easy to buy?

if ur on board already ok but just in case i learnt recently that the nomenclature used to describe the sanitary flange fittings relates more to the max bore of any Pipe (not tube) attached so a 2" flange fitting can have 2" and smaller alternative fittings (threads m or f, hosetails etc) on the other end....

when looking for 2" flange fittings be guided more by the flange dimensions, and a 2" fitting should have a 64mm diameter flange.

Yep I got 50.5mm flange when it needs to be 63mm!
