Ok bit of a funny one.
I prepped some water for a brew about 2 weeks ago. Did my usual boil of some bleach in the boiler before and ran that off.
Then put 34 litres of water in the boiler ready for a brew - half a campden tab.
Now due to a big family crisis - don't ask- I couldn't brew until now.
I've done a bit of a boil tonight and some fairly minor scum formed on top of the water.
Question - do I ditch or start from scratch. Seems a bit of a waste to just dump it. Its had the lid on the boiler all this time.

Re: Water left standing
Yup, start afresh. Put some of the old stuff in containers and use to flush the bog

Dan!
Re: Water left standing
Defo ditch and start again.u dont want to go to all that time and effert to make a rubbish brew when it can be avoided
Re: Water left standing
Water that has been sat for 2 weeks will be manky for sure. ditch it and start over. rinse your boiler too, just to make sure that it's all gone.
Re: Water left standing
Yep - the scum should have rung alarm bells - I'll do my usual boil with bleach to flush the tap etc. Thanks for the replies.
