Straining bags
Straining bags
I've just bought some muslin bags for straining my country wines - cheap at £1.30 for 2. There were also two nylon straining bags for sale - coarse and medium. What would these be used for? And are they any better? Just wondering. I should have asked in the shop!

Were they maybe for putting you grains in for Brew-in-a-bag?

Re: Straining bags
I use a fine one for final transfer into my fermentor, as it filters out anything from the boil and also helps to add air during the transfer. Plus as Jim has said, you can use them for steeping gains, dry hopping and depending how larger/strong they are Brew in a bag (BIAB).
