Very nice mate, though a quick question, why would you want the control box outside of the room. For bulk fermentation I could understand but the hotside itself...? I can see that getting annoying as I'm usually all over on brewday and having to leave the room to turn elements on or off or cycle pumps while adding ingredients and the like would annoy me. (but thats me personally)

In any case, an enviable set up, when is the maiden voyage?

Cheers all, the control panel is outside due to moisture, the box is IP65 rated but the switch gear is not and it is only 3mtr max from the furthest point away from the door so not a panic good exercise.

I have been fitting the filtration and HLT fill T is for the return from the Exchanger.



Cooling for the Heat exchanger with filtered water but still have the return from the exchanger back to the HLT to finish.



Flush trough for the EXchanger.



Had a few teething problems but will post that later after I have something to eat.

Cheers for your help today Clive the controller was starting to get to Kenny, once he was told the sequence it was no problem. The problem with the pump was not due to an airlock as I thought but problem being that the outlet pipe was too large 25mm so going to reduce to 21mm o/d and hopefully that will be everything solved.

Glad to be of help. trouble is as with most Far East PIDS the instructions are either non existent or difficult to decipher. + worth noting about the pumps

Is this why some pumps have a bigger inlet port than outlet? I'm experiencing air getting into my Lowara currently/ it's whipping up the wort and I've fitted both pipes the same size.

The Lowara which is similar to the Ebara these have 1 1/4 bsp inlet to a 1" bsp outlet, you need a larger inlet than outlet to save on running the pump dry I usually run a 1 1/2 dia pipe on the feed and 1" on the outlet.

Not sure but could measure one in the morning if you wish, you could make a hose tail by cutting a piece of pipe then machine 5 or 6 groves into the tube using a parting off tool forming a barb, then weld to the weld nipple. Better still weld to a RJT or tri clamp fitting that way it is easily removed.

I'm guessing that kind of hose is pretty heavy and doesn't bend too well so Triclamp sounds a good idea. cheers

Depending on the route of the hose you could also weld a 90 or 45 deg bend. Brewery hose is stiff but the clear braded food safe hose bends more easily but can collapse with hot wort passing through it so has to be laid out without any tight bends in it.
