Brass Fitting on my KingKeg...

Hi All

Hope you can help. I have a small question about top tap king kegs,
I have installed a new tap on my system but to get it to fix i installed a 15mm brass tank fitting,

The question is, Does brass affect beer in anyway,

This podcast with john palmer says that the lead leached by brass fittings is so minute that it's nothing to worry about. I think commercial breweries use brass too (some of them)

if in doubt any fitting available in brass has a Stainless steel equivalent..
i dont know enough chemistry to fully understand the arguments either side of the debate, but it seems more n more are falling into the any lead is dodgy camp??
im b*****D as our water in is fed thru about 8m of 90 year old lead pipe.. lets hope its nice n calcified up eh?


What are u using? if its a reducing bush check out about 1/2 way down this page..
