I'd say go for it. That's a good price for what you are getting when you compare it to one of those plastic electrim buckets with an element inside. It's got good capacity too. I used something similar for mashing and boiling and that cost me £130 back in 2005. I've still got it and will use it just for boiling as I made a mash tun. But see what others have to say about it. Good luck and if you buy it let us know your thoughts.

Do u think it would need wiring to stop it cutting out like some people

say they do. And is it hard to do?, i am tempted to get 1 when i get my brew shed

built up cos i am using a platic fv with 2 elements at the moment

cheers

I cringe every time I see a reference to a plastic FV boiler that goes flimsy when warm!

This will work for BIAB for sure, just be aware (as DeadFalls linked post says) that you might have to do some liquoring back or boiler topping up to get 23l of some beers out of a 30L kettle

I tend not to move my plastic fv when its warm. The one i use now is

33ltr so i do a couple of dunk sparges to get 23ltr so it will be same

Way i am brewing now.

Cheers guys
