Dreaming of a 10' X 8' Shed

Post by daddies-beer-factory » Sat Aug 02, 2014 8:17 pm

I was in the local garden centre today, and was looking at the 10 X 8' sheds - I currently have an 8 X 6' shed.

I was thinking I could get a 200L microbrewery in there !

Where would you put the cat...? I partitioned off 4.5 x 2.5mtr for my 100 ltr, tank o/d 560mm with one FV and sink best pic I can find to show the free space probably another 300mm from the window to wall on the l/h side and the fv was almost up against the sink so another 600mm to the rear wall.

I would build the buggest you can afford not sure about size that you will get away with but this will come under non permanent structure. Nothing worse than unloading and reloading items that are in the way to start brewing.

That is a great looking setup, I have followed your build & must say very impressed Scotia ! so you have about 15' X 8' - nice size.

I currently have a 100L 3 vessel gas system in an 8' X 6' shed - it is a great setup and I am not complaining (I can produce 80 pints per brew with potential to go to about 95/100 pints)

I was dreaming of a 10' X 8' shed with potentially a 1bbl setup one day !

You can build a 15sq m shed up to 2.5m high without planning permission (which is what I'm going for :) ).

You can go up to 30 sq m and 4m high (at the apex of the roof) if it's at least 2m from the boundary (which is very limiting unless you have a country estate obviously).

Well, among other things, I'm planning to move brewing ops in there to free myself of the restrictions of having to brew around mealtimes in the kitchen.

It will also be a workshop with my tools and drill press in there, and a nice workbench. :)

I need to clear out what is now my garage so I can convert it into a room (for music purposes mainly, though there will also be a bar in there :=P ).
