Water cooled FV

Post by Cheesey » Wed Aug 06, 2014 9:46 pm

I read that rather than using the frooker, it might be possible to use a insulated box, a green house heater mat, and a cooling coil, all connected to an stc 1000

I would need a solenoid valve to control the water. Has anyone got a recommendation for a valve? Best way to set it up , where to get one?.

Cheers

whats the cold water source?? if your thinking mains water running to waste i hope your not metered for water. if its not mains water but gravity fed check any solanoid valve you buy does NOT require a significant back pressure to operate, most do! 0.02mpa sounds small but its more pressure than a solar pump can generate !!.

a shelf chiller could be a simple solution, check ebay for local bargains.. one should turn up sooner or later. then just hook up the stc to the recirc pump and pump the icebath reservoir thru your cooling coil ;)
ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..
