Bloody hell mun that was an ordeal. Poundland did have oxy; it was behind a pillar on the opposite side of the aisle to the rest of the washing gear.

Got home not long after six, put them all in the bath to soak in an oxy solution. Got rid of the thick of the muck and all the snails and slugs and fag butts have gone and all the labels have come off. I'll clean em properly in 40 bottle batches as and when I bottle each batch as my back is now killing me and I'm sick of the sight of the damn things!

At least we don't have slugs in the flat any more ;)

All my shot glasses are now in the FV. No coffee for me!
EB,
Your 7 days Dry Hopping has passed us by! :D #-o
Have you bottled this Brew yet? What was your SG and FG?
What was the Taste and Smell like from the Syphon Tube? (Bet you had at least 3 mouthfuls from the Syphon)!
A man of your Brewing Calibre should have this all under control, Failure is not an option! :D
Game On!

Wales , Wales, Wales. Patience is a virtue, my friend. Bottling shall occur this very eve. Stand by for a full report.

Bloody hell that was an ordeal!

Got 39 bottles worth of lovely beer but these Koppaberg bottles are the pits! Two cracked while I was washing them out; three cracked while I was bottling up so lost a litre and a half of my beautiful beer!

I'm considering chucking the rest of the Koppaberg bottles ... Not worth the risk. Not my best brewing purchase ever!

FG was 1010; didn't take an OG. Tell you what though...coming down the siphon there's only three words to do it any justice: bloody lovely mun! The hops really lift the flavour. Bottled it up with 80g of Tate & Lyle's. Can't wait to taste this after it's carbonated and conditioned.

Treated myself to a few beers from Lidl's recently...they had some Shepherd Neame gear on from between 79p and £1.25. Had 3 to get me through the bottling process and you know what? If I'd have brewed it I'd be disappointed. Got 9 more bottles of the stuff to get through! At least it keeps my bottle numbers up.

This batch is for my mate's lad's christening but gonna keep a few back for myself. At least I don't need to worry about asking him for the bottles back!

Long story short: lovely beer, cack bottles. One lives and one learns.

EB
Mmmmm! I`ve never had a problem with Koppaberg bottles. I buy a couple now and then to compare against my TC. No contest, mine are 6 - 8% ABV,
Koppaberg is 4% ABV, Tastes like flavoured water next to mine! :D
Still, each to his own!

It's disgusting stuff. Just takes artificial to me. After losing five bottles out of 44, I have lost confidence in the bottles. The only bottles I've very broken bottling before was with a hammer capper. Maybe I was heavy handed, but didn't do anything different to normal.

EB,
Patience? What is that?
Mine has been in the bottles for 12 days and they were calling out to me, `Taste Me, Taste Me`.
So I did, 300ml Taster Bottle, Super Clear, Super Smell (I know I should say Aroma but I can`t yet bring myself to sound so ar$ey)! :D
As my step-dad from Cudworth would say `That`s a Reet Good Pint there Man!`! :D
Rhys (My Son), Fosters Drinker, Just said `Mmmmmm, That`s Lovely!`.
Game On Indeed!

I'm sure it's bloody lovely mun.

I'm gonna give my mate 30 bottles for the christening; the rest is mine.

Didn't known you had a connection to Yorkshire, Wales. You should come up for the Morley Homebrew bottle swap; take a few home with you. Morley's right on the motorway; would be an easy drive from Barnsley.

'Go sober for October' doesn't include accidental gulps as you get your siphon going...surely?

So I cracked open a bottle of my EB YB. So much for waiting 4 weeks, but after Wales' glowing report on his I couldn't resist.

Have a pic.

First thing that jumps out is NO HEAD. Boooo. But it's only been bottles a fortnight.

Take a swig? Don't mind if I do.

Oh.

All I can say is, it's 'young', and I hope it improves before the taste test with a bit of conditioning.

Wales, I think this ones yours for the taking!!!
