Large Beer Bottles 750ml where to buy?
Re: Large Beer Bottles 750ml where to buy?
Unfortunately I need them to be brown. Interesting to hear you can crown cap champagne bottles
Re: Large Beer Bottles 750ml where to buy?
Champagne bottles are crown capped for the secondary fermentation. Then stored upside down at an angle and twisted every day to get the yeast to settle. Then the neck is frozen, the bung of yeast let out via removal of the crown cap then the champagne cork put in. Interesting to watch. I made some once using a plastic champagne cork that had a valve in allowing you to vent the yeast out the same way, worked really well! Sub

You've just saved me a whole load of time and effort.
Your video should be made into a sticky or how to somewhere on here.
Thanks

Re: Large Beer Bottles 750ml where to buy?
Yeah that is a good video! I cap champagne bottles but having a few corked like that would be pretty cool. Cheers for the tip. Sub
Re: Large Beer Bottles 750ml where to buy?
cheers chaps im happy for the the mods to sticky it so others can use.I made a batch of beer for a engagement party the big bottles look great when presented to happy couple.
Re: Large Beer Bottles 750ml where to buy?
I'm going to get a rubber stamp made to brand the top of the cork.
Looking online it seems you can buy corks with a mushroomed head. Any experience with the head doing that naturally as Rob says?

Re: Large Beer Bottles 750ml where to buy?
Also, do you change the amount of priming for those corks? Ones I have drunk seem to have a bit of ooomph to get the cork out. Cheers Sub
Re: Large Beer Bottles 750ml where to buy?
I didnt change the carb and it still popped with nice bang much like a leffe bottle.Mine did take on a more mushroom shape.Im sure i still have a few left at the weekend i will try and get a picture or even a little vid of opening and the cork.
Re: Large Beer Bottles 750ml where to buy?
As promised this is from a beer i did for sister in laws engagement party they loved it and even took a bottle back to oz where they cracked a bottle on their wedding day .The beer has been in the bottle maybe 8 weeks and has already taken a more mushroom shape.
See the cork pop had been chilling in fridge not extra carbonation just what you would for normal level for that style

Only £11 from maltmiller
Re: Large Beer Bottles 750ml where to buy?
Agreed but with £3 delivery. It's a toss up on price if buying extras but just thought I'd point it out.
