Buffalo 40 ltr boiler Earthed? Help!!

Hi just starting my first biab, I need to use an extension lead should the plug have earth connected? or not?
I can`t check via boiler as it has a moulded plug on. Just started and lead was getting hot so changed to thicker one. thick one has earth the one I replaced didn`t . Help please, Thanks, Dave. just want to be sure.

Just found some pics of electrics on bottom of boiler and looks like earth connected, so going with that. Thicker earthed cable plugged in water warming up nicely.

yes it needs an earth and if using an extension lead use one with a decent size cable,1.5mm is good,and if its on a roll do unroll all the cable.
o and if your cables getting hot becuse the earth wires to small youve got other things to worry about,best not touch anything metalic and call the gas board whilst running away

Thanks madhippy. Trainers on ready (-; Found a six foot, thick 3 core cable and have set that up. cable is no longer hot and I`m almost at 66. Thanks for the reply, Dave. back to me brew.....
