It can only add heat, whereas temp control is almost always about doing the opposite. Spend your money on a brew fridge instead.

That's a lot of money for a heat mat and STC1000. As Charles has already said it won't cool either.

I wasn't planning on buying one, I've got the bits n pieces for a brew fridge but just need a fridge..a mate of mine is moving into a house over the road in the next few weeks and fingers crossed he ll have a fridge for me. A brew fridge would probably be cheaper than what they're asking but for some people this might fit the bill. Ie fermenting in a cool garage bar the summer months.
