I have been using an unmodified STC1000 on my fridge for a while now, a couple of days ago I had the alarm go off (at 3AM!) with HH displayed. Switched it off and investigated. On power up it was displaying EE now.
Checked the probe, low resistance @20c so moved the probe from my one I use for my HLT.
Result is wildly varying temps from -35 - 30C.
I don't have any other STC's with dual o/p's available, as my HLT one is single o/p.
So is my STC up the spout? (I have ordered a replacement & 2 new 2M NTP sensors but will be next year before they arrive)

Re: STC1000 issue (on a brew fridge)
That's just it the temp WASN'T up, I had it set to 11C and it was not over 12 inside.
Overnight it was displaying HH meaning it was over 40C, then EE when I plugged it back in but the sensor was ~120ohms low but no s/c. The replacement was from my working hlt one and was displaying all over the place. Will just replace it when the new one arrives. When the replacement sensors arrive will retry.

Replacement arrived (from Amazon) only issue is it isn't an STC-1000 but a moisture detector
Wanted me to pay for return of the "faulty" item, I refused so got a full refund.
Now ordered from ebay, UK seller will see if an STC-1000 arrives this time.
