I got the chance to review and test a grainfather unit over the christmas period.
I filmed two brewdays and did a final review of the unit including good and bad points.
Imake the have said to me that most of the issues i have raised have been solved for uk release but i m not aware of which as yet.
These are about to go on sale in the uk and thoaght it would be of intrest to some people.

Grainfather brewday & review
Re: Grainfather brewday & review
Good video, though madness trying to lift that grain tub out at that height!
As I am starting from scratch I nearly bought one of these but those niggles you list are the ones that stopped me splashing out £599 on a this, for now. I am hoping there will be improvements on the next model and will probably grab that one, also when there is more support beyond New Zealand, what if you break a part, or need to drop the glass lid? Too much money to be an early adopter, but I like it!

Lol yeah it was stupid on my part and than ran through my mind as i was lifting it.But brewday was started with kids around and i thoaght i would be clever by doing it on the worktop was ok for the mini batch but 5kg plus water and suction on first lift was a killer.
Well imake said after i posted my video that some of the issues i mentioned have already been adressed on the uk batch due to arrive here in feb.I would love to see or hear from others once they get theirs what has changed. For me its still a maybe once the minor niggles and they are that have been sorted i would comit.
I agree about support they have been very good at sorting problems in nz but parts are there etc.Give it 6-12 Months and thinsg will be very different in the uk i suspect .
