Fridge Help

Hi all

I picked up a fridge a couple of months ago working fine in preparation for converting into a kegerator. Just been in the garage today to try and start work on it and it doesnt appear to be working. Got power from the socket going to the fridge, but not chilling. It was working when i picked it pu. Its a Swan SR5040 fridge. Anyone know if there is a reset switch or am i on the lookout for a new fridge?

Whats the temperature in the garage? If its below 4c or thereabouts then the fridge won't come on because it's already cold enough. Bring it indoors for an hour or two, then plug it in and see if it starts working again

Many fridges will only work if the temperature's above about about 8 or 9C, regardless of the setting.

They do make fridges that can be used in out-houses and garages (where the temperature can get very low) - google the manufacturers spec for the model you have.

Yes its currently in the garage and its a cold day in there so hopefully not lost yet. Looks like ive got power to the bulb, but the bulbs not working!!! Will try in a couple of days to see whats happening. Potentially have a replacement lined up on gumtree.

Ahem. You mean brew fridge #2 surely ??

Oddly enough, I came up with an idea for my dead second fermentation fridge - I'm going to install a couple of 125w peltier elements in it and use it as a 12 degree stabilised ale kegerator
