Bear in mind the washer isn't welded to the body like a proper bulkhead so you're relying on the compression of the round oring against the washer.

That's all fine and will probably work exceptionally well but was just pointing out why they are so cheap as opposed to the likes of Lards or the silver soldered ones.

fwiw ive had very easy seals made using basic SS pipe fittings (hex nipples, lock nuts and M20 SS washers) And a good wrap of ptfe tape, the trick is to transfer ptfe tape onto a small diameter bobbin and thread it through the washer holes to wrap the washer completely with tape, after a few wraps the tape starts to form a nice soft cushion, and the central hole becomes a very snug and tight fit against the nipples hex hilt.
Not my idea, i lifted it from a US site where they refer to ptfe wound diy washers/gaskets around any form like a SS washer or card template as an 'everlasting gasket', ive used these with SS pot drains and 2" (64mm flange) triclamp joints.. ptfe from a plumbers merchant is about a fiver for 10 x rolls ;)
ist update for months n months..
