Buffalo 40L Element
Buffalo 40L Element
So it looks like they've discontinued the "old" 40L Buffalo, and the new one is (currently) a lot more expensive - boo!
There is a guy on EBay though that has some elements he's removed from physically damaged boilers, he's selling them for £25 delivered which seems pretty cheap to me - I've picked one up as a spare just in case mine ever goes pop.

Re: Buffalo 40L Element
He also sells reconditioned Buffalo induction plates for good prices, in two minds now whether to wait for a 2nd hand boiler to pop up (or Nisbets to drop their prices on the new one), or whether to pickup one of those induction plates and either a brupaks or ss brewtech pot to go with it.
Re: Buffalo 40L Element
What power are the induction plates? He doesn't appear to say in his ebay listing.
Re: Buffalo 40L Element
The single ones are the the 3000W ones afaik.. he does say in some of the listings but not others. Buffalo don't do any others do they?

Re: Buffalo 40L Element
if the element does go just cut a hole in the side with a qmax and fix a normal element
Re: Buffalo 40L Element
I would much prefer a concealed element.. For 25quid I am happy to carry a spareedgearsenal wrote:if the element does go just cut a hole in the side with a qmax and fix a normal element

Re: Buffalo 40L Element
I recently brought an old style buffalo 40l (£79@Nisbets). What's the difference with the new range @£139? Both are 2.6kw and they look identical.
Re: Buffalo 40L Element
No idea, I assume they have changed a few things though because the part numbers are different and they stopped making the spare elements for the old one a while back, which suggests they have changed that too, albeit the same wattage.
Re: Buffalo 40L Element
They do an 1800W but it isn't listed by Nisbets. I found it on Amazon.Grumpydev wrote:The single ones are the the 3000W ones afaik.. he does say in some of the listings but not others. Buffalo don't do any others do they?

Re: Buffalo 40L Element
Thanks for the heads up, Grumpydev. Just ordered myself one of these Buffalo elements as a spare.

Thanks for that, ordered myself a spare. He says he includes instructions on how to change the element, how easy is it? I planned to run my new buffalo 40lt today which I have fitted with a fine mesh filter specifically for hop pellet brews. Woken up with high temperature and streaming. Bugger. Thanks again for the tip off.

I didn't see any instructions with mine, but I can't imagine it being massively difficult, just got to make sure it's in tight enough to be water tight I guess.micmacmoc wrote:Thanks for that, ordered myself a spare.
