My guess is that it's a DIY job — a 'T' thermometer stuck through a gland. You could make one yourself quite cheaply

Any help on the part that seals up the probe part would be appreciated maybe with a link
Thanks

This is the sort of thing: link. You also need a locknut and lots of ptfe tape to seal it to the vessel.

The problem is, the manufacturers of these 't-bar' thermometers rarely tell you the width of the probe, so it's a matter of buying one first (you can get them on amazon for about £15) then measuring the probe yourself and buying the right gland. Even then it can be difficult to find exactly the right gland — I seem to remember having to enlarge mine with a drill.

Sorry, I take back that 'easily'.

Of course, you could always buy a nice dial thermometer like this, and then you just have to drill a hole.

I have found that any thing that you can imagine even existing is somewhere on eBay, just do a quick search. Can't post a pic as I am on tapatalk however search for item 111652014474. There are several others as well. I just searched for 'probe thermometer'.
Hope this helps.

grab a compression fitting thats a close fit and substitute the olive for orings and a wrap of ptfe round the seal point ;) ebay for silicone orings of all sizes ;)

Or look into a thermowell or thermopocket which will let u stick any probe into the heart of the boil, just make a good contact between the po=robe tip and end cap of the well.. a diy well can be mage from a tank connector and copper tube very easily..
ist update for months n months..
