Re: Wireless beer fridge temperature logger
use the program header installed to reflash the device, use stc1000+ V 1.08
then take power and gnd from the header and every 48 seconds the ispclk pin will pulse with the signal of the data packet containing the current temp. It Uses the Fine Offset protocol, Fine Offset being a us manufacurer of weatherstations and they have remote wireless sensors that broadcast temp and humidity data..
Thankfully a chap called Luc Small has written an arduino library to demodulate the broadcast so all the hard work has been done
however with a smart device connected to the program header of the stc1000 you have the ability for 2 way comms querying and setting the device, Im just using a cheap Rf Tx.. board to broadcast the regular message and picking it up remotely.

Can you share some details on this - what software are you using?AnthonyUK wrote:I use a Raspi as it only requires a DS18B20 sensor to work as a temp logger.
I have a Raspberry Pi and several waterproof DS18B20 sensors, but haven't found a ready made software package for logging and uploading.
Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast, Seaweed, Blood, Sweat, The swim bladder of a sturgeon, My enemies tears, Scenes of mild peril, An otter's handbag and Riboflavin.
Re: Wireless beer fridge temperature logger
I'm reading the temps from 5-6 DS18B20s and logging them into an RRD from which I can graph the results.
The Raspi is running LigHTTPD to display the graphs.
Example

There are loads of guides all doing things slightly differently

You guys are fairly rapid emulating the logging ability of BrewPi on a shoestring.
Bravo!

well ive orderd one of the ESP8266 WiFi modules Andy is using and will be connecting upto the stc1000 directly as soon as it arrivesdean_wales wrote:You guys are fairly rapid emulating the logging ability of BrewPi on a shoestring.

sladeywadey check out this US stc1000+ forum thread by the hacks author, there are some v1.1 that can take the hack and a source for the original devices too. lot to wade thru tho.. http://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread. ... 8&page=182

Re: Wireless beer fridge temperature logger
cheers.. but i had spotted that, i will have to get the meter out and find 3.3v on the stcboard or invest in a buck converter..Andy wrote:Don't forget that the 8266 is a 3.3v device

Re: Wireless beer fridge temperature logger
Cool! Both Power and data must be 3.3v, I guess data is more of a challenge ?

oops that i think i will need to do a few evenings/weeks reading up on ....Andy wrote:Cool! Both Power and data must be 3.3v, I guess data is more of a challenge ?
or stick an arduino inbetween? but i think a simple voltage divide may suit as long as its on off digital coms..

If you want to convert 5V logic to 3.3v and vice versa - https://www.coolcomponents.co.uk/logic- ... ional.html
works great

The link to the source of original flashable hardware is also on the firmware Github page.Fil wrote:well ive orderd one of the ESP8266 WiFi modules Andy is using and will be connecting upto the stc1000 directly as soon as it arrivesdean_wales wrote:You guys are fairly rapid emulating the logging ability of BrewPi on a shoestring.
