Help attaching regulator to bottle...

Post by Manngold » Tue Jul 21, 2015 9:44 pm

Hi all,

I thought that I had everything covered, but it seems to not be going to plan.

So I purchased a good Co2 regulator and have a bottle of co2 gas but can't seem to be able to attach the reg to the bottle securely.

I have posted some photo's below of my set up, do I need an adapter for the reg or the bottle, or is it a case of just making sure that it is all really secure, I am not sure if their should be a proper male/female thread thing going on. Basically, I am stuck and not too sure, has anyone else come across this problem?

As always, thanks for the guidance and support.

Just offer the regulator up to the bottle, slide the nut down and screw on. You will need a plastic washer on the shoulder of the regulator though otherwise it will leak.

That looks about right to me. There should be a washer between the bottle and the regulator which creates the seal. Then you just put them together and tighten the nut.

Yup, have fixed a washer now, all good. I think all the descriptions of female to male thread made me think I needed an extra part.

As always, thanks for the quick response! Am I right in assuming that if the top most dial is set to 0 nothing will come out as I am not requiring any pressure? Yet, I should always try to start it at zero and work my way up?

Thanks

Yep. All the way anti-clockwise is off for the regulator. The dial opposite the tail pipe is the one you want to watch, going from 0-6 bar
