Brupaks Insulated Mash Tun Replacement Tap

Post by Telford Brew » Fri Aug 14, 2015 3:05 pm

Hi - I have a Brupaks insulated mash tun (up to 30l) and need to replace the tap. I was hoping someone would be able to confirm the drum tap here - http://www.houseofhomebrew.co.uk/equipment/taps is the correct size or point me in the right direction.

Struggled to find information on line.

Cheers

Kenny.

Kenny

I have one of these mash tuns and while the keeps the temperature well, the tap is poor.

Personally, if I was you I would get a ball valve and suitable bulkhead connector and replace the tap with something better quality. Try your local plumbing supplies and see what they have.

Or you could contact Brupaks direct http://www.brupaks.com/

the downside with a metal valve is that it can also act as a heatsink, duval and waddington brand water butt taps are afaik foodsafe tho i cant produce the source of that bit of webinfo, i can say i use the waddington and duval water butt taps on many fermentors without any problems.. and the hozelock compatible spout comes in handy for a budget quick disconnect solution.. ;)
ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..
Conditioning: nowt
Maturing: Challenger smash, and a kit lager
Drinking: dry one minikeg left in the store
Coming Soon Lots planned for the near future nowt for the immediate :(
