Just chucking a few ideas around for a sight glass
I have this tap
http://powellbrewing.co.uk/index.php?ro ... duct_id=59
My thinking is to put a copper t piece in between the ball valve Then a short 2cm piece bit of copper then silicone hose as your glass.
The main issue I can see is the extra weight it puts on the bulk head connector.and the suction effect when the valve is open ?
Anybody think this is a good or bad idea ?

Just No!
I did this when I built my HLT from a Burco33l. The suction (venturi effect?) when the tap is open empties the sight glass completely, making it impossible to judge how much is being run off until you close the valve again.
I struggled for a while to restrict the flow in and out of the sight glass in various ways but nothing worked, in the end I used a 2nd bulkhead connector and the problem vanished. I really wouldn't waste your time with a tee-piece method.
