Finally......................a Brewfridge!

Post by charliemartin » Fri Sep 18, 2015 2:54 pm

At last I have got round to setting up a brewfridge for controlling fermentation temps. :D Been scouring Gumtree for weeks only to find my Mother had an old fridge sitting in a garden shed being used as a cupboard.
So one free fridge, an STC1000 for £8 odds, couple of sockets and a 40 watt greenhouse heater for £12 and we're in business.
Don't know why I didn't do it sooner. Even the wife wasn't too bothered by the addition to the understairs space.

Cheers,

Hoe do you get the wire in for the heater?

I drilled a hole in the side of the fridge. The temp sensor wire just goes in between the door seal and the fridge.

there is no need to drill thru the fabric of the fridge, just thread the heater flex (minus plug) down through the drain at the back of the fridge then re-attach the flex. Easy.
