Hi all,
Has anybody used a converted cool box style mash tun like the one Hop & Grape sell (link below) or indeed that very item? Interested to hear how you get on with it.

Hop & Grape Insulated Mash Tun
Re: Hop & Grape Insulated Mash Tun
I think most of the people on this forum will have started with a similar home made version of cool box mash tun. Mine was almost exactly the same, a cheap box bought from Asda I think then I upgraded to a round upright Igloo with home made manifold
Both made good beer and the only reason I don't use them now is because I bought an 80 litre double skinned mash tun but it still works on the same principle only its more expensive and better to look at.

I had a very similar one. Both that one and the Brupaks one I have, are 30 litre capacity and say they can mash 10kg of grain.
I only did 10kg of grain once and it barely coped. Apart from that it was fine and held temperature well. I upgraded to a shiny 50 litre one.
If you interested you can have it for £25 collected from near Tonbridge, Kent or £35 delivered.

Re: Hop & Grape Insulated Mash Tun
I used that hop and grape mash tun for 40 odd brews before succumbing to the lure of shiny. It works well, i even did a parti gyle with it once for 2 different brews with 8.5KG grain. Never did try to get 10Kg in there though.
