Please can you recommend some kit?

Post by aamcle » Mon Nov 09, 2015 9:33 pm

There are a couple of things I like:-

a decent balance weighing to +-0.1g

a refractometer.

I know lots of people here have them so can you please recommend any particular types and suppliers?

Is a pH meter really worth it?

Many Thanks.       Aamcle

For scales I purchased these recently: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00E ... ge_o06_s00 along with the 100g calibration weight. Very happy with them so far and they seem incredibly accurate for such a cheap set. Have also tested using known weights of some coins with very good results. Obviously they only go up to 100g - I got them for measuring chemical additions (slaked lime in particular, which needs to be quite accurately done).

Matt you beat me to it, the exact ones I have, also go pH test strips, they give you a good enough reading most of the time.

That's what I want them for !

I'm doing 10 n 12 litre batches so I need something accurate.

Got those same scales. I paid a fiver on ebay. Really good accuracy.
