Beersmith3 Set Up
Hi, I have just downloaded Beersmith 3 (trial 21 days) and I cannot see how you change from U.S. Units to Metric units. The online videos show a preferences tab in Beersmith 2 and how to completely change to metric settings, but I cannot see this anywhere in Beersmith 3.
Fermenting 1: Browning's Porter
36 Pint Cask:
Brewing :Christmas's Past Golden Ale
Drinking :Boddingtons Bitter Clone

Re: Beersmith3 Set Up
At the bottom of the "Tools" menu is "Options" click in there and the second option is then "Units" - so you can have metric or even some weird mix!
I'm 14 days into my trial, it does look quite good although I'm not sure I'd use all the features.

Re: Beersmith3 Set Up
Have a look at Brewfather before you commit, it’s a much more modern package IMO.

Re: Beersmith3 Set Up
I would second Brewfather, I find it easier to use and setup than beersmith
Re: Beersmith3 Set Up
Thanks, I’ll take a look at Brewfather too, yet to commit to anything to replace my sprawling set of spreadsheets,
David

Re: Beersmith3 Set Up
Both suffer from the US obsession with water treatment only being possible using Lactic or Phosphoric acid. Beersmith is a lot more sophisticated (read harder to learn) where Brewfather benefits from being simpler and has some nice touches that BS hasn't. Weapon of choice is still BS for me.

I've given Brewfather a go this week & quite like it's setup. Easy enough to use.
I do have a preference for offline apps that I can use on my phone. So Wort (android) is still my go to starting point.

You can use brewfather offline on your phone, it’s a web app, just save it to your home screenD215Aquitania wrote:I've given Brewfather a go this week & quite like it's setup. Easy enough to use.

The iSpindal integration is very cool too. It makes BS3 look very clunky indeed.
