Re: lager
A lager kit is probably your best bet, if you can find a home brew shop still taking orders!

Re: lager
Look for a 'California Common' type of yeast which is lager-like but works well at ale temps.mark14 wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 7:29 pmthank you, i am a bit worried temperature wise , basement is about 21 c, no heat coldest place in house, so would i be better doing a light ale type yeast wise or can i get lager yeast to perform please cheers, i just thought double diamond was a sort of lager , ale sort of,

Kolsch? If you can keep the bottles in a fridge for a couple of weeks you could get close. You could just brew a very Pale Ale with German hops and tell them it's Lager. Don't know how your going to explain why it tastes so good in comparison .

The Mangrove Jack M54 yeast is probably your best bet for "warm" lager, but 21C is getting on the warm side for it, I'd try M54 first as it's easily available and see whether the result is drinkable by the barbarians, if the basement is too warm for M54 then you might want to try Bootleg Biology Oslo kveik, WHC Ubbe seems to be similar and is cheaper and more available.
