PBW alternatives

I used PBW for a long time until it became unavailable.

Stellarclean was decent, but more recently I tried Chemclean, and it certainly foams at first but I’ve also been pretty impressed at its performance.

Wow that is cheap, £74 at Malt miller. Got 5Kg coming tomorrow.

Yes a crazy difference (it’s the cheaper of those prices at more than just Brew2bottle), it looks like it was priced at some places same level as PBW but is probably sourced a lot cheaper. It seems to be the way with a few of the new products coming to market, some sellers appear to be trying to see what the market will bear, often then adjusting prices when the competition are selling a fair bit lower.

TFR or truck wash and a brush. Cheap and IMO the quickest & best I can find (and I really have tried)

I’ve seen you advocate this on the Braumeister forum a lot, how are you exactly using it and any issues with rinsing etc?
Any chemists on here care to comment on the ingredients and any potential downsides?

Its a caustic cleaner. Removes debris really easily. I use a spray bottle and brush it. Rinse well. Used it for what seems like ever and never managed to find better.

Safe of stainless. Don't use on aluminium.

I see quite a few descriptions claiming it is non-caustic though. Multiple products being sold under the same name?

I think TFR is a bit like 'Hoover' there are many brands I recommend a caustic one.

I had a go this week with TFR I found a 50/50 mix was the most effective.
Certainly works and sooo much cheaper than the PBW's or lookalikes.
