Bitter stout

Hello
This is the recipe, Wheelers Muprphy stout
12.5litres

0.9kg dark dme
200g roast barley
40g chocolate malt
225g sugar

northdown hops 14grams, harvest alpha 6.0%
yeast saf 04 11g

og: 1039
fg:1010

Ferment for 8 days, primed wih 50g of sugar. Bottled so far 2weeks 4days

I could not wait so i tried a bottle tonight and i was a little bit disapointed with the taste, to me it tasted very bitter :cry: i know i have'nt left it for 4 weeks in the bottle will this change or have i done something wrong with the recipe :?:

Sorry, batch size was 12.5 litres, i halfed the ingredients from the original recipe.

i thought dark dme just added more colour :?: Maybe i got the wrong end of the stick :oops:
