Its a deal!! I dont have the time for AG any more either, where I was brewing is 40 mins from mine, after 12 hour shifts you can forget it.

Extract it is then, not bloody Tesco beer [-X

Tossco Value Lager
Brew Length: 23L
Mash Time: ooh 5 Mins
Boil Time: eh?

2000g Crystal Malt
500g Carapils
4 cans of lager
Bread Yeast
Oh and some Hops

Make an AG beer using grains. Then keeping the spent grist in the mash tun drink 4 cans of lager and urinate into grist. Try to sprinkle as if sparging (brings a whole new meaning to fly sparging) Whilst warm add some hops to taste and bring to 23L with some dishwater.

Allow to cool before pitching yeast.

At least that's what it tasted like to me.
Drinking: Turbo Cider, Black Rain Stout, Jotun Killer Double Stout, Apple Wine, AG#1 F.A.G,
Fermenting: Bramble Wine
Conditioning: Blueberry Jam Mead, Gales Mead, HLM EPIC FORCE Methegln, Tropical Juice TC on an orange mead slurry, AG#2 S.L.A.G.
Waiting for Space: Muntons Conn: Bock

I've taken to Extract so much I am now in the dire situation of having 3 empty FV's but alas all 5 Kegs full!!
I cocked up there didn't I!? I now have 5 days off, and cant even get a brew on (unless I can empty a Keg in a couple of days  )

I must admit I am really loving extract brewing, I get the beers I really want and have great satisfaction tweaking them to my tastes.

Similar but different position. Lots conditioning, not that much to drink, had to stop off at Aldi for 6 pints of Wychwood - £8 b1**dy :)

Can brew 40 pints for that...

It hurts having 'buy' beer now doesn't it!? #-o

My situation with the kegs is one I was hoping to be in, I always have a tendency to drink too green, but now with 5 full Kegs I have 2 at 4 weeks conditioning, 2 at three weeks, and 1 just gone in, so I'm good for a while, as soon as one empties though it'll be full within a week. [-o<

Good stuff Chris, for us without time for AG we can still appreciate a cracking home brewed pint =D>

Just to update on my shop bought beer: due to a lack of conditioned ale I am drinkig a small selection of Wychwood and Abbot.

Not a patch on my HB - even though they "are just kits". My beers seem to have more depth of flavour and body, maybe because I put the effort in or maybe because I always brew 2 ltrs short (and cos I muck about...)

Knocked the kit up yesterday abo and pitched the yeast this a.m. after the wort had cooled to pitching levels. 8 hours later no life yet but I'll not worry about pitching any more until after work tomorrow if there's still no life.

Wort smelled fantastic though - even on just glucose. Did (as always) make it two litres short though - I prefer it that way.
