Hi All, progress has been slow what with Christmas, work and 3 young children.... But I have been plugging away :D

Image

I have made most of the required holes in the front of the control panel, I have included a hole for an extra PID incase I decide to go RIMS at a later date or if I decide on temperature controlled fermentation, just gives me more options and makes the panel more future proof:)

Good idea. I wish I'd done that

Cheers mate, I'm trying to only build this thing once and make as future proof as possible, still need to add 1 or 2 more holes for adjustable element control then it's ready for paint:)

Hi All, abit more progress was made today:)

Image

Here I have marked out the hole that is needed on top of the control panel for the heat sink.

Image

After about 30 mins with the trusty Dremel the hole was cut:)

Just waiting now for my Tap and Die set to arrive so that I can attach the SSR's to the heat sink.

So all in all not a great deal of progress.... But progress none the less.

Here are the SSR's waiting to be attached to the heat sink:)

Hopefully my tap and die set will arrive tomorrow.

The rest of the Panel LEDS and siren have also arrived along with the Amp and Volt meters:)

Image

The control panel selector switches also turned up

Image

And last but by no means least, the Sestos Timer has also arrived:)

Jay

I'm fascinated by your project and aim to do something similar when I move house. Just a quick question, how do you plan to power it? Will you have a new dedicated consumer unit where it's all located or something else; RCD?

Cheers
Andy

The SSR's have been screwed to the Heatsink, the Heatsink mounting holes have also been drilled and tapped:)

The front of the Control Panel has had 3 coats of black hammered finish paint:)

Image

After it had been left to dry and harden for 2 days the Panel Lights were added along with the 22mm buzzer:)

Image

It's really nice to be able to actually see progress being made.

The Volt and Amp Meters have now been added:)

So here is a more or less finished pic of the front of the Control Panel, all that's needed is another PID which I will order when the seller is back from his Xmas holiday.

Hi, the last PID has been ordered along with all of the internal components that are needed, I just need to source 2 suitable door bell step down transformers and the safe start interlock:)

I have a weeks holiday next week so hopefully a lot of the parts will start to turn up soon!!
