I bought element off chris and it came with plastic nut. Cheapest i found was angel homebrew for £2.90

will feel alot better with a metal nut just incase the plastic snaps during a boil which i have heard happen

To a few people

You picked the top one up, if you'd have looked at the ones underneath they had metal nuts and for the same price. Pisses me of when shops do that, especially to loyal customers.

No worries glad you got sorted.

Been a bit disappointed myself with a few purchases from there recently. I got some saaz hops and some wheat yeast. The hops turned out to be 2010 harvest with an expiry of 2013 and the yeast had expired the month before. It's a shame because it stops people coming back.

Give Chris a ring, I'm sure he will sort you out.

I know there is a cheap bin on the table in the shop at the moment, filled with hops and there £2.50.
Most of the hops in the bucket are older crops or slower moving items.

Would be interested in how you get on with the metal nut as I had problems with one and found it was not interchangeable with the original plastic nut (mine was the Ritchies plastic boiler) for some reason. Maybe there are different size threads and you'll be fine :?

So far have put tgis on hand tight and filled pot up with water and left to see if it leaks so far so good
