Due to space I plan on having the kettle below the other two so use gravity from thermo pot into the kettle.

Quick disconnects? What's the perks of those then. I'm useless at this kind of stuff.

As the name, you can connect and disconnect quickly using just one hand. I think they are a fraction cheaper than the camlock.Bunglebrewsbeer wrote:Quick disconnects? What's the perks of those then. I'm useless at this kind of stuff.

I'd be then looking to connect from the HLT to a spare arm via the pump. That's my plan.

Re: steam extraction
Have a look at the Electric Brewery website. Their method of sparging is very simple and works perfectly, it's the method I use. I've added the perforated tin foil tray to help the sparge water to more gently disperse.Bunglebrewsbeer wrote:** sparge **

Yes the tap has an elbow on the inside of the tun with a barbed hose tail, you can just see the tubing below it.Bunglebrewsbeer wrote:That connected to the tap on the top of the pan?

That sites rather good. That Control unit it shows is rather beastly. Could run the nuclear Arsenal with that monster looking at it.

Re: steam extraction
So connect that to HLT and. Bingo! Safe messing about with a sparge arm.

Re: steam extraction
Yep, the tap the other side of the elbow is the one used to "tune" the flow into the MT form the HLT pump, no need for a sparge arm and you don't lose temperature spraying liquour about. I speak as someone who once used one, waste of money.Bunglebrewsbeer wrote:So connect that to HLT and. Bingo! Safe messing about with a sparge arm.
